Okay, so it doesn't fix everything.. but the timing helps -- A package came today of stuff I'd bought from another [livejournal.com profile] fatshionista member. Somehow, I was able to see two items they had for sale and mentally put them together and realize "Wow, that'd be great as a steampunk outfit for RCFM with my brown suede skirt!" Seeing as I've been having difficulty trying to figure out steamy outfits that aren't of the tomboyish-mechanic variety. ;)

So.. a preview.. Sabrina's RCFM Steampunk Outfit! (First draft, sans all adornments)

Nifty! You are so much better than this crowmama is with dress-up to look nice and hair-stuff...said it before and I'll say it again, "I need my friends to come and play dress-up with/for me".

*chuckles* and what a far cry from the old trenchcoat and hat days from the Wherehouse basement, huh?

Maybe I should eventually turn that into a story.. Running afoul of some truebloods and some bad magic, and TechWolf awakens after being abducted.. only to find out that he's not TechWolf anymore..

Oh, I'm liking that idea!

Return to the Wherehouse, ten years latter, full of twists and wanders that we call go along. I had mused with the idea that the crowmama had left a child back in the world, an infant put up for adoption. I have played a bit with the child coming to find her years and years latter and what that search and meeting would look like.

Absolutely.. I mean, seriously. I found Annie and the 'Townies I think when I was around 18 or so.. I'm 30 now. And while we don't have Annie anymore, and our yahoo group isn't as busy as it once was and there are a few we don't really hear from.. those of us that did stay in touch are moving towards a 15-20 year friendship!

And when you think of all that we've been through in that time: marriages, divorces, having kids, moving, education, jobs, facing the future, I know these are all the kinds of things that the books originally helped me face. Somehow it seems kind of fitting to have a "10 year reunion" or something.. "Where's the Wherehouse now?"

It may not seem like much, but the Wherehouse, and knowing the 'townies did help shape a lot of who I am today, who I became.
