I keep meeting the cutest girls at the bookstores in town.. Dunno if I should be happy I'm meeting cute girls or annoyed that they're in Rockford, where I -don't- want to stay.

Went to Barnes and Noble tonight to pick up the new Rue Morgue and Horrorhound Magazines.. While I was there I found the Chipmunks Valentines' Day Special DVD (Not sure, but it may be OOP), and of course, The Valentine Special has a) The "Captain Chipmunk" episode, and b) is chock full of Chippettes action!

So, the cashier in the video section of the store was rocking the cute librarian look, in fact, she totally had the whole Jeanette thing going on.. when I went to pay, I noticed she had a set of fang marks on her neck.. (makeup vampire bite? Not halloween? Hrmm..) So then she noticed I was buying the Chipmunks DVD, and she asked me if I'd seen the Chipmunk adventure.. so I was telling her about the new Spec. Ed DVD including the soundtrack on cd.. Kinda surprised that she struck up the conversation with me..

So, I'm in a pretty good mood right now. I've got new horror magazines, a Chipmunk DVD, and after a trip to the video store, some horror movies to spend the night with. Not the most exciting plans, I know.. but still, pretty groovy, although not for folks trying to bring me down. Ahh well.

'Course, finding out I made bonus incentive at work for June rocks my world! So, next paycheck I get a $350 bonus! Guaranteed to put a smile on my face..

Now, just gotta get dinner.. I'm thinking pizza.

Okay, I know it was straight to video and all, but gorram did Return to House on Haunted Hill SUCK!!!

Gods, they fucked up the story.. Baphomet Idol WTF? Goddamn it. The synopsis on the box indicated they expanded everything with Dr. Vannacut, which, hell yeah -- the first movie's "Flashback" scenes of the 1930's asylum in sepiatone were one of the reasons I -love- the first one. The associated visuals of the vintage medical equipment, vintage medical art, etc.. I was hoping this would be more of the same, but instead it was just typical straight to video crap that they just tied in the original character into.

Thank god this was just a rental. The first was scary because it did a good job of building up the dread; this was just a gory slop-fest.

Shame, too, cos I love Jeffrey Combs.. and he was totally wasted. Now I gotta watch something good to make up for it.. thinking I might put in the Frighteners for GOOD Jeffrey Combs.. (I still wanna see Re-Animator, but the video store didn't have it.. suck.)
