It has begun.. got paid today, and so, on the way home, I stopped off at the Belvidere Wal-mart for some supplies and stuff.. Picked up a roll of duct tape, some needles, a tape measure, thread, some other odds 'n ends.. besides the "supplies," I also picked up a Tinkerbell key ring to replace the one I lost, an antenna ball shaped like 2 cherries on a stem (to those that know I'm trans, it's cute and girly.. to those that don't, umm.. it's a Pac-Man reference! Really!)

After that, I stopped off at Party City, 'cos I wanted to look for a cheap wig and some prop glasses to incorporate into my fursuit head. I love the fact that Party City has their halloween/costume section open all year round, so in the event of an emergency, I can still get my fix. They didn't have any good/cheap wigs, but I did manage to find prop glasses for my fursuit; Originally, I was going to get these giant oversized Elvis looking glasses, as I didn't want to go the giant clown sunglasses look, and I figured if I removed the sunglass lenses of the Elvis shades I could sorta make 'em look like oversized metal frame glasses. Instead, at the last minute.. I found the perfect thing..

Giant oversized black cats' eye rhinestone glasses with clear lenses!! In fact, they're exactly like the glasses my Second Life avatar wears! Seeing as I'm partially trying to come somewhat close to my SL avatar, I HAD to buy them.

Now I just want to get a cute pair of real, prescription black cats' eyes.. *purrr* Speaking of *purr* and Cats' eyes, I'd been contemplating getting a hybrid setup for my secondary / DJ fursona.. nothing major, but at least ears and a tail.. Party City to the rescue! DJ Sabby Tabby in the house! I found this gorgeous "Goth" Cat ears and Tail.. they're black with burgundy velvet inserts.. I can't wait to DJ again so I can wear them!

After Party City, I went to the local Hollywood Video/Game Crazy.. I'd wanted to see what a used Guitar Hero setup would run me.. Game Crazy still wants $70 used for a Guitar Hero III bundle with Guitar.. New it's like $80 or so. I guess it's just -that- popular that the used market sucks. Damnit. Although I did notice that there's an Alvin & The Chipmunks game that appears to be GH3 Compatible, with Chipmunks Music! WOOT! Okay, as if the 80's GH game wasn't enough.. Now I -have- to. Unfortunately, it's still a little pricey for my blood right now.. So no Guitar Hero for me tonight. Ahh well. However, the video store had a bundle deal; 5 "old" movies for $5 bucks, so I took the opportunity to pick up a bunch of kids/furry movies I've been wanting to watch/copy for a while; Robin Hood, New Adv. of Pippi Longstocking (Yet another thing from my childhood that should've thrown up a Red Flag about my gender!), The Hobbit, Over the Hedge, and.. *cough* The Country Bears. I'd avoided it 'cos it just looked so damned stupid, but I was surprised that it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It wasn't -great-, mind you, but it wasn't the train wreck I figured it was. Mainly, if nothing else, I figured that, well, they're full size Bear Fursuits designed by the Henson studios, so it's reference material.

Speaking of Gender, I noticed a new documentary out about Gwen Araujo. I'm gonna have to netflix it and watch, but not this weekend. Can't handle heartbreaking TG Murder Documentary this weekend..

Anyways, I came home, built up my foam head to something approximating the size and shape of my head, and have begun the process of foaming.. here's hoping that I paid enough attention to the Fursuit Head panel at RCFM! (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] kiwihunter8!)

So, yeah.. nice, kinda relaxing night at home.. *smiles*
