You're Bauhaus, the grandfather's of goth. You

Lessee.. The HUD contract came back. Tomorrow we hear back from the loan people on our (about damn time) approval. Saturday our insurance guy comes out so we can buy homeowner's insurance.
This last weekend was the Epicenter Tournament. Our team (Team TP) made the playoffs but got knocked out immediately after -- I came home incredibly sore and stiff. It's hell getting "old." However, my favorite monkey in the world, my friend Steve dropped by the center and mentioned that I've lost weight since the wedding. Go me! :) Although I can't really tell, and my pants are already loose because I wear them that way, it does seem as if they're getting even more loose. I refuse to get on a scale, though. I just don't eat as much any more, and the biggest change was the fact that I've pretty much given up on Mt. Dew. Yes, I know it's geek blasphemy, but switching to Diet was easy with Rachel's help, and it's such a small and easy way for me to lose weight. If I can keep this up, who knows, maybe by next year I could be down to 220 or more?.. But anyways..
This next weekend is the SWRAP Christmas party, at Dave's place. I'm looking forward to this. A lot.
I can't wait to finish the closing on the house, though. As soon as that's done, I'm job searching. It takes more and more effort to go to work each and every day. It wouldn't be so bad if I had any hope of a promotion, or a decent raise, or thought they actually cared one whit about Employee morale. But none of that has happened, and they just continue to give me reasons to resent them. So as soon as I'm in no danger of jeopardizing the loan with a job transition, I'm outta there. Rachel's place needs help desperately, and I'm a shoe-in for that, as well as the fact that recently, the City posted a job listing as a Systems Technician for the Police Dept. here in town, which is so right up my alley.. So It'll be interesting to see how things turn out.
Other than that, things are good.. Willow's getting big, she's full grown size now, but still as rambunctious as ever. I never ever thought I'd have a cat, let alone have it be _MY_ cat.. but the world is a strange place.
I picked up Burnout 3 for the Xbox yesterday -- it's amazing how cathartic a game based on crashing your car into other cars and running other cars off the road can be. (Also addicting!)
So, yeah.
