sabrinageekHrmm.. haven't posted in a bit.. Not sure what to say.
It's been one of those kinds of weeks.. and I kinda feel invisible, like I've fallen away from the rest of the world again..
Christmas hasn't really been my holiday since I "grew up."
This year, even more so. Very few gifts given or received, very few contacts with friends and chosen family. *sigh* Somehow, it just doesn't feel like christmas. I didn't even really give myself a present.
And of course, this week.. I had to work, lost a filling, and my van's ABS brakes decided to fritz out. Oh, and I dropped my cell phone in the toilet and had to fight with Verizon -AND- FedEX to get the replacement. But at least now I have a phone again. Nothing festive about any of that. :/
I really want to get back into photography, and want to get a really nice DSLR camera. I used to have a really nice SLR Pentax setup for film photos, but I'm getting away from film and want to get into Digital. But damn, DSLR cameras are expensive! *sigh* Ahh well.. I can deal with waiting, or biding my time, but I was planning on taking a lot of Urban Exploration/Urban Decay photography on my upcoming trip to New Jersey. At this rate, I'm either gonna be using my really old, crappy point and shoot to do it, or else I'm gonna have to try to buy a cheap (albeit better) point and shoot off Ebay to get something at least slightly better in the 3 weeks before the trip.
On the other hand, though, I did get to avoid a lot of the hassles of shopping. No fighting for Wiis and Xbox 360s and PS3s and all that.. I won't be getting any of the next gen consoles for a while, I think..
For what it's worth, though, I'm not sad.. I'm spending Christmas day with my parents, people I love.. we're gonna have a great ham dinner, and I know there' lots of folks out there who care about me, so I can deal with some Christmas malaise. Soon as the holidays are over, I think things will pick up quickly.
Anyways, I hope you and yours are having a wonderful day, and a wonderful holiday if you celebrate!

Ahh well.. this whole holiday weekend's been so screwy anyways, with the job change. I still don't know yet what my schedule is for next week. :/ Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
