On the steampunk front..
Oct. 3rd, 2008 11:50 pmOn the steampunk front.. I had an idea.. an epiphany.
New outfit.. or new character.. or new side to my existing persona.. I'm not sure.
lots of recent things seen coalesced together -- saw a picture from Dragon*Con of a steampunk "Ghostbuster."
at the halloween stores, one of the "sexy" female costumes I saw was the sexy female ghostbuster costume.. (Buh??)
While doing keyword searches for Victorian stuff, and doing related victorian searches.. another of my favorite topics came up that I'd forgotten about -- Jack the Ripper.
There's just something about the victorian time period that lends itself well to serial killers, crime, and monsters. Jack the Ripper. Jekyll & Hyde. Sweeney Todd. Sherlock Holmes & Moriarty.
And then it hit me. I'm already a tomboy with a mechanic persona.. but I'd mentioned that a lot of my outfits don't necessarily feel all that "mechanic-ish." However..
*drumroll*
What about a female steampunk "paranormal investigator" / bounty hunter / serial killer dispatcher? Maybe something along the lines of a BPRD agent in Victorian Times? Liz Sherman & Hellboy meets Sherlock Holmes!
Oh, there's sooooo much possibility that I can't wait to start putting costume pieces together! *bouncebounce*
Plus, that'll mean new pictures to
steampunk_plus and other communities too! WOOT!
