Tired.. but good.
Nov. 6th, 2006 11:13 pmI'm really really tired, and I've been really bad about updating my LJs and blogs and such.
But a lot of good things have been happening lately. There's been some annoyances too (my insurance sucks) but a lot of good.
A lot of the different voice-acting / podcasting projects I'm working on/with are coming together and coming together quickly.
At the very least, there should be announcements soon of a podcast (sci-fi/anime/horror/fantasy/geekery), as well as some audio drama (looks like some definite Sci-Fi stuff there, maybe some horror and military as well..)
Also, this is my last week at my current job. I start my new job next Tuesday. It's more corporate, and I'll have to toe the line with wardrobe and shaving and the like, but hey, for $2.00 more an hour, where's the priority, right? Is it worth $2.00/hr to wear t-shirts to work? Not when management has been so stupidly fucked up lately. Looks like I'm jumping out at yet another good time to get out. Hopefully this time it'll be for good. Fortunately, however, I see this as fulfillment of what I set out to do- when I left Blackhawk and went back to the current job, I said it was only to get back on my feet and regroup while I continued to look for something better. It did take some time, (almost a year) and some false starts/hopes (the whole Chrysler debacle, and debacle it is) but now, after a year, I'm getting a new job, in a company that certainly will be around for a while, and from what I know of the business, won't be farming my job out to India, and is a definite pay increase. Even though $2.00/hr isn't like jumping tax brackets or anything, it's still -UPWARD- movement for me. Not lateral, not sideways. And I can still work on my other projects on the side.
'cos hey, if some of these pan out, it might be bigger than any of us realize.
