Frustration
Jul. 8th, 2006 12:08 amI'm very very frustrated right now.
I put a Canon up for auction on Ebay. It didn't sell the first time, so when I relisted it, I dropped the buy it now price by $10, and then it sold. However, it was to someone with a (at the time) feedback of 0. He payed with E-check via PayPal. This was the 1st. As of today, the payment is still pending and I'm still waiting for his e-check to clear. Also, it turns out that his 0 feedback wasn't due to being a new user, it was from having +2 and -2 that cancelled each other out. So I sit and watch and wait to see if his payment will clear, or if it will somehow eventually bounce. Not sure how long I should wait before reporting it as "unpaid." It's been 4 business days now, by my count.
Also, I ordered glasses from eyeglassfactoryoutlet.com -- They were on a list of cheap internet optical places, and they had a nice pair of cat eye frames that I liked. (See previous post for picture.) Well, I placed the order 6-29 and paid with paypal. My order went to the "processing" stage on the 29th, but I have heard no updates since then, nor have I received them. I sent an email to the company this morning, but haven't heard back from them. They claim to be a member of the BBB, but when I looked them up on the BBB, it says they are -NOT- members, and have 8 claims against them. They also sell on Ebay, and have something like +4400 feedback. But they've also got quite a few negative as well, and they seem to have a bit of attitude in responding to negative feedback, such as "What do you want for $9.50?" or cavalier responses to "Slow shipping/response" such as "We were on vacation." As they say in Star Wars, "I've got a bad feeling about this." But again, there's 4400+ feedbacks on Ebay that say that they deliver.. And in the meantime, I'm debating if/when I need to start the complaint process of getting money back.

March 13 , 2006
I ordered frame "West 9709 Blue Eyeglasses", adding dark grey tint and UV protection. Total price with shipping: $49.50. These will be used as sunglasses for car washing, lawn mowing, snow shoveling, etc. where I don't want to risk damage to my "primary" sunglasses (an expensive designer pair).
As I went from page to page through the order process, I noted that the prescription numbers became "jumbled". I assume (hope!) it's just the way they're being displayed on-screen and that the lenses will be manufactured properly.
Immediately after ordering, I received a confirmation email.
A few hours later, another email arrived stating the order status had been updated to "processing".
March 16, 2006
Checked credit card activity - Eyeglass Factory Outlet has charged my card.
March 28 , 2006
I received an email that afternoon stating the glasses had been shipped on Friday, March 24. I went home and found the glasses in my mailbox. [/edit]
My local Borders is also pissing me off. Every single time I go there, even since they remodeled the store, I can't find a damn thing. Even if I look it up in their computers, and their computers say that it's IN STOCK, and tell you where to look, on what shelves, it's NEVER THERE. Their GLBT section blows donkey dick, with no organization at all. Barnes & Noble is only marginally better. B&N has a smaller selection, but at least theirs is slightly better organized and easier to find something. I'm not giving money to a store that makes it a chore for me to shop there. More and more it seems that online (Amazon, etc.) is the way to go to get exactly what I want. I just wish I could make that loud voice of instant gratification more quiet.
Speaking of books, I'm also pissed that the Public Library district also has a shitty GLBT selection. I mean, yeah, it's conservative Rockford, but COME ON. There was almost nothing on the "T" end of the spectrum.
Damnit, I want to dress, and I want to be able to do it -completely- when I do. And this is hindering my ability to do so. Not to mention, well, MONEY. I mean, wasn't PayPal supposed to do away with all this waiting and check clearing crap? I mean, that's why we don't send checks or money orders anymore, right?
BAH.
